4.3 Testing the “What” Stream (IFJa Connectivity)

In the human brain, language takes a large chuck of cognitive workload, which we can see due to the over-balance towards the ventral what-stream.
In the ventral what-stream we se a strong connectivity within the semantic system. Especially this what-stream is langauge-heavy due to its conenction to the frontal Broca’s areas 44, 45 and 47l.

STV surprise

Rolls claims STV is part of the language-realted semantic pathway connecting to BA45, 45

here I contrasted STV to PSL so see where STV is connected differently than the where-stream PSL region.

In functional connectivity with full correlation it is interesting to see that in left hemisphere STV shows a strong connection to the where-stream whereas in right hemisphere it is strongly oriented towards the what-stream.
